Can't you write to Ombudsman regarding this interview experience.
How can an IO be ignorant of the infamous july fiasco ?
good idea...IV should write this to Ombudsman.
We should also get a survey/feedback form from the IO for AOS interviews, POE etc so we can send the feedback to USCIS. The form should include date, time , IO name etc and survey questions...Only then USCIS can improve their service.

Why so much emphasis on growing your own vegetables?
What crop should I grow?
EB3 Guys,
Take it easy... This is just for humour, to have fun at these times.
No green card for you. Just work well for 6 years, enjoy life in US, enjoy sports cars by renting, not by buying, rent a big house, have a lawn and garden in back yard, grow your own vegetables. Have nice vacations like Hawaii, Jamaican islands, Vegas, Porto Rico etc.,Have fun in life. Do not go for green card. After 6 years, get nice job in India, own apartment near to office and ask your parents to live with you. Take kids to school . Have fun with them. Try to become director, AVP,VP,SVP,CEO,CTO and President. Do not go for green card. After you become director, buy a single family home and mercedez or BMW and have fun. Retire by the time your kids become earners. Grow vegetables in back yard. Do gardening and have fun. Thats how life should be. Do not hope for green card. H A V E F U N.

my uncle is the citizen of US and he applied for the green card for my mother so my father an me also can follow her and our case has been approved and we are waiting for interview appointment. the problem is that my surname in my passport has written different from my father, i mean his surname is ABCDEF and mine is ABC DEF,there is one space between my surname but in my birth certificate it is correct. i want to know will it make any problem for us then?
thank you

I have to first think of the words that I have to search for. Alisa has already picked on me that I don't even know ROW, RIR, Schedule A. This is not very useful for me.
Is there a Java Specification kind of book that I can start from begining to end? Thanks.
No one wants to pick on you...Please do not take the jabbing too seriously...We are all in this together..
Well the law code is kind of written in this fashion only...The cornell education site is better...Or just for the sake of how the numbers are devided between EB1/2/3 you can read the visa bulletin...It has a simplified breakup..
My comment about 'goobledegook' was not a criticism of your abilities...It was about the complexity of immigration code....Well you see..we all have to hire attorneys because of this complexity and no one is at fault...Am just trying to help in any way I can....

The only way to enlighten yourself and others is to get yourself and your friends involved and participating towards the effort. You will automatically see the sacrifices made by others who are not thinking about "I" all the time.
No sensible member would expect detailed spending reports to be published on a public forum. I hope you weren't expecting that?
I never asked this question for myself
And I never discredited anyone for their effort
I am just chipping in with a suggestion on how to improve members' involvement level. It's unfortunate you have interpreted this as some kind of personal attack, which it is anything but

Even I was wondering same thing- Notice Date or Received Date. USCIS website says Received date is taken into account while looking at service centers processing times.
Here is exact line-
"IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance."
Of course, I personally wish that Notice Date takes precedence as it is not our fault that one file just kept on sitting and in saga of moving dates and PD, each day makes a difference.
Well, that may not be quite correct. Service centers claim that they process cases in order they receive them. Receive Date on the receipt is the official RD (the mail room receive date) by USCIS. It is not the date case was received by a center. In the above case, files were just waiting somewhere between Aug 17 and Oct 16. Texas center perhaps opened the case on Oct 16, entered it in the system and sent out a notice. Online status perhaps shows "...your case was received on Oct 16...". So, as far as Texas center is concerned they received the case on Oct. 16.
Thus, as curent processing times are at August 23, 2007, dwhuser case file is yet to be opened. Since file is not yet opened, no one yet knows his/her PD (it is nowhere other than on paper files). So the case waits - his/her PD may get current and pass. Of course, Aug 17 '07 to Oct 16, '07, was not dwhuser's fault, but it put him/her behind a lot of cases whose files were accepted/opened by a center in the meantime.
Why so? Because USCIS prime systems are not designed for huge volumes, or PD's so much in the waiting.

I need to add my daughter's last name to I-485 and subsequent AP. Do I still need to have US court order for doing the same once her passport has correct last name ? How much time does the US court order take and what is the cost ?
Please share if anyone have experience adding the last name with USCIS and how long does it take ?

Congratulations. You have done a great job. The dos is not able to predict the future dates of bulletins. You are able to predict it. Can you give some guidence for next couple of years? That will be lot helpful to immigration community.
<krupa quote>
Immigration Voice should take up this issue with USCIS. Those who came to US after 2007 should get PD of the date they applied for transfer of Labor OR applied for 140. Other wise it is abuse of law.
</quote>
Those who came after 2005 and who got green cards should be revoked and assign pds so that who came earliar should get green card first.

I am eligible to file for 485 under the current (July) visa bulletin. My wife is transitioning from L1B(expired in May) to H4(Awaiting receipt) and is therefore out of status. I am wondering if she should apply with me (claiming that her status is H4) or should she wait till she gets her H4 (which could be in August).
My questions are:
1. Is it necessary that one's spouse should apply concurrently?
2. Can one's spouse (H4) apply for 485 as a follow up to her husband's application in July even if the visa numbers are not available (i.e in August when the visa bulletin says Unavailable)?
please help.

She had her delivery in a hospital which automatically assures adequate care for the child (paid for by the good citizens of Maricopa county, i should add).
As long as the pregnancy is uncomplicated, a woman is perfectly capable of delivering with a leg shackled. In no way does that put her at risk of complications.
Yes it would have been humiliating, but whose fault is that?
.

Question: Have you ever seen a delivery or been through it, then you would know how a shackle is, and question your self?
Dear friend leave about all that she has done, think about you new born kid who going to be delivered. (do you think it would be ok for the kid to be delivered in harsh weather or the road or the conditions around)
Please be humane to others!
Good luck on your journey to GC and please stop this kind of non-sense from hear forth.
