Thank you very much. Greate relief. Lets continue to work together to end retrogression. Congratulation to every IV members.
Thanks a lot to all members for being with us in this struggle. We have tasted our first big success this year. Credit goes to each and every IV member. We were all affected by the visa bulletin fiasco and this is our victory. This is a victory for all our members and we must rejoice.
IV had worked very hard and had been pushing for this in the background. Our flower campaign, rally and other advocacy efforts all came together and helped us at a crunch time. We thank members that sent flowers and also walked in the San Jose heat for 4 hours. All that really shows our commitment to this cause.
We are happy that our efforts are successful and IV has been able to make a difference. Please also know that during this effort, IV was extremely active and decision makers heard our voice. We cannot give out all the details but what IV members should know is that these efforts should make each one of us proud and what we can do if we have a firm resolve. We were also the first to break this news even before anyone else or media could, and continued to update our members as time passed.
IV also thanks its contributing members and it is because of their contributions we were able to continue this effort. Many thanks to the members that are contributing now after this good news.
Please continue your support for this organization and be an integral member of this ever growing community, so that this journey can continue and we can end retrogression and have immigrationvoice as our voice.

That is cool. By the way, do you have to pay lagaan to US govt, I mean taxes on your kheti-baadi?
PotatoEater,
I grow different kind in my backyard. It all depends on the size of your backyard and which zone you live in states. I live in virginia. By this August end /september first week summer crop will end. I grow tomatoes(30 plants), Mint, snake guard, water melons (15 plants), cantaloupes(10 plants), carrots, okra, spinach , chillis. Its fun and hard work too. You need to dig the soil, mix with top soil or garden soil and cultivate it. Every week fertilize it. This is my first year gardening. I have around 3000 square ft of back yard. i do not know what to do with that. I cannot maintain Lawn in back yard. So I decided to grow vegetables.
I am eagerly waiting for my fall garden..I am planning to grow tulips, beets, cilantro, carrots, potato, peas etc., If I can get same space for garden In India and work place just 3 miles from home , I can happily go back to India.

Thats True, I see that too that people doesnot seems to be enthusiastic, may be because of the reason that many members have left after getting their GC.
and are not intersted in this effort any more.
Is this campaign still on?
I did not see much enthusiasm on this issue.
Do people not want their files to be adjudicated or not?

I can debate you rationally under one condition; the moment you resort to personal attacks I will stop. I will assume you have a fair grip of English language and decent comprehension skills. If you agree then lets get this rolling:
First off, have you read the link which I have provided in my previous post ?
If you did, then I hope you will stop making simplistic comparisons of Mexicans coming into US to lets say Bangladeshi's coming into India.
"we all know how our Police forces and other investigative agencies treat and interrogate the people in their custody"
No, we ALL do not know that. Even if it is true in every part of the country and in each and every case, it does not make it right.
"Just one hypothetical question for these people...What if a pregnant female terrorist is arrested by police in India, just before she was about to engage in some terrorist act in India itself, is arrested and is shackled to her hospital bed, while she gives birth...would all of these "human rights supporters be saying these same things..."
What you are making is called a straw man argument (Straw man - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strawman)). In this case, the woman is NOT a terrorist nor
was she suspected of any such crime, so bringing such hypotheticals will not give any weight to your argument.
What you are seeing is a case of 'socio-economic' osmosis. Problems of this nature has been debated across many nations of the world. How you handle these issues goes to the core character of the nation. Shooting 'intruders' is perhaps one way of looking at it. Then such a solution cannot be undertaken by a 'super-power' who wants to hold moral superiority in the league of nations.
A few 'simple' cases of water-boarding people thought will not have any repercussions. How wrong those people were. Similarly, police torturing 'intruders' and defending such actions does not make it right. It just erodes the basic character of the entire country. Would you want to teach your own kids as to how to treat such issues ? Shooting, shackling, water-boarding etc ? Please do not give a flippant reply, do think about it before you hit the submit button.
Socio-economic solution along with a sensible immigration policy has been found to be far more sensible as compared to a pure enforcement policy. It has been proved over the years that a pure enforcement policy which many nativists support to be economically unviable. Minutemen patrolling the borders to Gov. Perry's multi million dollar border cameras, have proven to be ineffective and economically unfeasible.
wtf are u talking abt? water boarding? windsurfing? osmosis? archery? shacking..:D.

The problem is not that the name is mentioned incorrectly, just that it is not in "first name/given name" and "last name/surname" format.
All you need to do is:
1) Write a cover letter to the Indian consulate that has jurisdiction on your case based on state of residence, requesting an "Observation" in your passport clarifying your "first name" as --- and your "last name" as ---
2) Fill up a miscellaneous services form (available on consulate website). Attach 1 passport photo. Under "PLEASE ISSUE", check "Others" and write "Observation in passport to clarify 'first name', 'last name'"
3) Include a bank cashier's check of $10.00 payable to "Consulate General of India"
4) Include a self addressed and pre-paid USPS express mail envelope in the package.
If you send the package to the consulate using overnight service, you should receive the passport with observation within 5-7 business days. If applying in person, they may do it on the same day.

Let us say that i agree to what ever you say. In what way does everything you stated above make a STEM graduate eligible for GC without an Employer sponsership. Why does it have to be only STEM graduates which will not need employer sponsership. If giving GC based on completion of MS in us is bypassing the employee sponserhsip then that has to be extended to all EB categories of immigrants (EB1/EB2/EB3) and the benefit o those visas have to be passed to the badly retrogressed category first.
It si not teh question of liek or unliking or having jealousy. It is the question of law. According to the US law employee sponsership is EB category so any new bill which has to be introduced will have to follow the EB category employee sponsership rule, othwer wise it wil not see the light of the day
Personally i see no chance of this DV lottery STEM billpassing in any shape or form either now or in the future
I didnt talk abt STEM graduate eligible for GC. i agree with belmontboy. on STEM. so that should answer all your Qs.

Is IV only for those who have filed I485?
I gave my opinion and people gave me lot of reds. There is a majority here who already have EAD and have filed I485. You people do not care for those who are less fortunate and struggling in the early stages of the process. If July 07 had not happened, all of you would be asking for I485 filing option today.
By giving reds to people who disagree you will drive people away and make IV only for those who have filed I485 and not for the entire EB immigration people.

[QUOTE=hoolahoous;1136226]sorry but DOL's is not my theory. Looks like you never seem to have seen a child birth. It is an ACTUAL unit.
Have YOU read the article you just quoted? It clearly says this is not in widespread use. Pain is SUBJECTIVE. I hope you know what subjective means.
also if everyone goes through same amount of pain, that doesn't reduce the intensity.
Yes it does. Because intensity of pain is perceived differently by different people. Just like Joy and pleasure are subjective.
Let me ask you once you get laid off when your wife is pregnant. I am sure that you know that as soon as you are off the job on H1, unless you had AOS, you are ILLEGAL from same instant. Let me see where your principals hold. Status is a piece of paper which is created by human.
In the remote circumstance that, that ever happens to me, i will follow the law and NOT DO ANYTHING ILLEGAL. Would you stay here illegally in such a circumstance? That makes you a "latent illegal". No wonder you sympathize with them.
And imagine tying the hands to a bar when delivering a baby. I wonder we complaint about cramped seats in plane when flying to India (unless you fly business class, then probably you don't need GC) but think that chained to bed when delivering a baby is perfectly okay !
A repeat violator of the law needs to be shackled. Just because she is pregnant doesnt mean she is a saint.
There is a law for illegals and they should get the punishment (deported), but that doesn't mean we should go out of way to device our own punishments to 'teach a lesson' to 'these illegals'. There are some basic Human rights. Even POW's are supposed to be treated with those human rights.[/QUOTEe.
Human rights? This repeated violator of the law was taken to a hospital, FREE OF CHARGE. She got all the medical care that was needed, on TAX PAYER money. I bet if she was given a choice, "We will leave you unshackled if you pay the bill for your own care" she would BEG to be shackled :D
And since when is shackling a criminal considered "going out of way to device our own punishment"?
